Ten Books to Carry You Through a Cascadian Spring

Caleb Stone · Mar 28, 2026 · 8 min

Ten books to carry you from the last cold rain through the first long evening — chosen by our editors and tested in our chapter circles.

How we built the list

We asked our editorial team for the books they kept pressing into other people's hands this spring. The list that came back was wider than expected: a salt-water memoir, a new Powers, two debuts from regional presses, and a quiet novel-in-stories we've been thinking about for months. There's no theme — only a shared sense that each of these rewards the season.

"Spring is the season for books that ask to be finished outside." — Mei Chen

Pick one. Read slowly. Share what you find with your chapter — the best lists are the ones that keep growing.
